An Embedded System is any electronic device that incorporates a computer in its implementation. The user of an embedded device is often not even aware that a computer is present in the device. They are designed, realized and delivered for dedicated goals instead of “open systems” (typically Personal Computers and not only) that are sold to cover a wide range of applications.

Embedded Systems:

• Industrial controls (scales, monitor, measurement device, surveillance, etc...)
• Kiosk (ATM, POS, information points, advertizing, etc …)
• Medical devices (general device controls, radiograph, cardiograph, echo graph, etc...)
• Industrial automation devices (robot, chain controls, process controls, access controls, etc…)
